One year after beginning his medical studies he got involved in theological
disputes being deeply religious and having taken distance to the big "state
churches". He was in contact with pietists, inspirational churches and
"Herrnhuter" people. Later he finished his medical degree and settled down in
Frankfurt (Main).
Then fate was tough for the young doctor, for three times he married a woman,
she died after giving birth to a child and even the children died at a very
young age.
So he decided to make a foundation with his earnings in 1763.
Part of his concept was a botanic garden and a high level medical library which were realised! He built the Bürgerhospital which is an important Frankfurt hospital. Next to the Bürgerhospital was the Teatrum Anatomicum: After Senckenberg's mortal accident his body was the first section done in this building.

Dr. Mathias Petersen is a rare typus of politician. Most of his
colleagues become professional politicians early, but he is coming from sideways...
Born in Hamburg he is general practitioner with his office in Hamburg-Altona. Before
going to the town hall to dare about political things in the afternoon he is treating patients.
Only after this priority he defines his political target: "I would like to be mayor of
Hamburg".

Recently he celebrated his 90th birthday in Buchen/Germany
After his practice he made a world trip with his wife and began
collecting postcards. Meanwhile -after many trips- he has arrived at his 162nd
album!
He says: "My most important capital is memory"
Later he joined the Hartmannbund, a medical labor union and became regional and country president vor many years. He had positions also in the professional medical official organisations.
More than that he was engaged with the youth groups of the red cross, became regional president of the DRK as the only medical doctor in such a position in Baden-WÜrttemberg. He was honoured for many years of engagement.

This superwoman has done a lot in sailing [and other!]. The
latest news was what attracted my attention to her since I read in in the
newspaper (see links below!):
She became member of the first German ladies-only team for the transatlantic
race "HSH Nordbank blue-race" from
Newport (USA) - Hamburg (Germany), her job: helmsman, navigation, medicine on
board, fitness trainer of the team!
2000: 10th place, European Championship, Laser-II, Travemünde (Germany)
2003: 17th place, World Championship, Laser-II class, Hoorn, (Netherlands)
2003/ 2005: 1st place, German open, Laser-II class, Warnemünder Woche
2006: HSH Nordbank pre blue race, X-482 class, as Co-Skipper in a ladies-only
team
2006: 1st place, Berlin Yardstick Masters, Esse class, Berlin

Wolfgang Ellenberger has worked at the Ballet of the "Teatro alla Scala" at Milano/Italy as pianist/correpetitor ("maestro collaboratorio di palcoscenico") in 1987 and 1989, enjoying cooperations with stars like Oriella Dorella, Carla Fracci, Luciana Savignano and he has met choreographers like Rudolf Nurejev, Juri Grigorovich.
Later he had hired a primaballerina from the Scala for an event in Würzburg/Germany, Isabel Seabra, but she had to cover a colleague at the Scala, so she made her friend Thran Thi Mai from Cannes come to Würzburg. The theme was "Italian evening" and Thran and Ellenberger performed the Italian Concerto of Johann Sebastian Bach with the three movements "Al gusto", "Andante" and "Presto" - the climax was Thran Thi Mai doing the splits on top of the piano!

Dear colleague Ellenberger,
many thanks for your interest on our event about which I am
reportingnow:
The "Heuchelberglauf" has been organised by the sports association
Leingarten/Germany for the 16th time this year.
Leingarten is near Heilbronn/Germany and the Heuchelberg -a little mountain- is
surrounded in a 11,9 km long tour.
Another short course -used also by walkers- is 4,9 km long.
For 4 years now wehave integrated the "South German championship for
medical doctors and pharmacists" and besides the sports event we offer a
medical workshop with lectures. Our central association is the DVLÄ Deutscher
Verband langlaufender Ärzte und Apotheker" in Berlin. Our target is to
give a good example and live our principles to keep moving - as the adipositas
and diabetic patients are motivated to perform....
We DVLÄ members have a sports journal where we can present ourselves on a
monthly basis: "condition" c/o Meyer&Meyer editor D-52080 Aachen

Dear colleague Ellenberger,
it is
amazing how my modest musical activities are getting known. I play the piano
from age 7 on though non-professional but for fun. In the last years I did not
really have enough time to practise....
5 years ago I have added a little concert hall to my house about 50 sq meters
up to 60 seats with a new Steinway D concert grand and thus fulfilled a dream.
In this private setting I manage 6 to 8 house recitals per year, mainly for
piano solo. For this purpose I have founded the Andor Schmidt foundation for
promotion of young musicians" since I have no commercial interests.
I am recruiting my young pianists are mostly coming from the class of Lev
Natochenny (Mani Ejiri, Evgenia Rubinova, Guoda Gedvilaite and others) from
the Frankfurt music academy. We also have chamber music events with singing as
well as Jazz recitals (Adomas Rekasius, Maggy Scott and others). I am sorry
not to have a web page yet to give information. So far we have managed 36
concerts, and I hope for your interest to get our e-mail newsletter. Would be
nice to find more interested listeners to our concerts via your web page!

As a little boy he has had three wishes: to work in Marocco/Africa, to
travel around the world and sail across the atlantic all alone.
The last dream came true even for two times! In 1955 he went from Liberia
to Haiti with a dugout canoe and in 1956 he crossed the Atlantic Ocean
with a simple folding boat everybody can buy in any magazine:
He wrote down his extreme experiences of difficult status` of the mind in his book, his orientation words had been anchored deeply in the unconscious by the autogen training of Dr. Schulz: "course west.... course west....." Then the spray of the waves suggested these words into his automatisms so he could keep oriented. Another sentence: "I will make it!"

There is little to say about my professional career. Music, piano and
composition studies were runing parallel with the medical studies.....
[remark from Wolfgang Ellenberger: Right, Otmar, nothing easier than that!]
After my medical exam I was working at the theatre in Münster/Germany for 15
years (my parents were frightened), then I went to Berlin to have an own
office as a general practitioner
(and NOT give up to compose and give recitals in the Berlin area). As I had
planned I sold the office at age 60 and from end of 2001 I am musical director,
pianist and composer at the theatre in Stendal/Germany.
Focus of my composition style
(just besides the oratorium and many many stage music pieces exposed n my
homepage) is concert music between twelve tone music and jazz,
as it can be found in my two concerts for piano and orchestra (a sample will
be sent...).
Since 2007 I finally have the time to concentrate on marketing of these
products since I make only contracts with the theatre about single productions.
By the way I am looking for prominent editors ... see what happens.... this
much for today!
