In the Kreiskrankenhaus (district hospital) of Kitzingen (near Würzburg) there was a long distance run organized with the neighbour hospitals over 6,9 and 13,8 km distance.

engage themselves for the German Association for Multiple Sklerosis (DGMS). A
pharmaceutic comapny pays 5 DM for every km ran by a doctor to the DGMS.

....JogDoc would be a real understatement: This man is a running machine!
Dr. Thomas Wessinghage, born in 1952, is orthopedic doctor and
director of the reha-clinic at the town of Damp/Baltic Sea. He was a very
successful sports-man: member of the olympic team Germany for four times, 1982
he was European Champion over 5000 m, in plus he was German champion for
multiple times over different distances and held several German and European
records, he is still holding 2 German records over 1500 m and 2000 m.
His profound medical knowledge is based on this personal experience as well on
his activities on national and international level, recently becoming
specialized in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

This superwoman has done a lot in sailing [and other!]. The
latest news was what attracted my attention to her since I read in in the
newspaper (see links below!):
She became member of the first German ladies-only team for the transatlantic
race "HSH Nordbank blue-race" from
Newport (USA) - Hamburg (Germany), her job: helmsman, navigation, medicine on
board, fitness trainer of the team!
2000: 10th place, European Championship, Laser-II, Travemünde (Germany)
2003: 17th place, World Championship, Laser-II class, Hoorn, (Netherlands)
2003/ 2005: 1st place, German open, Laser-II class, Warnemünder Woche
2006: HSH Nordbank pre blue race, X-482 class, as Co-Skipper in a ladies-only
team
2006: 1st place, Berlin Yardstick Masters, Esse class, Berlin
