2) MantraDoc Mohani Heitel has published a new CD
...by the way: when I play Mohani's CDs to our psychosomatic
patients the effect is extremely strong!
They rush me and ask wher they can buy this CD....! (comment by Wolfgang
Ellenberger)
Dear friends of mantras!
With great pleasure we inform you that the new CD "Mantra Darshan" by Mohani
Heitel has been published.
Dashan means seeing or perceiving the higher reality in the inner self. This may
take the form of a vision or revelation or can happen in other deep emotional
experiences. In this process a contemplative listening or even singing the
mantra with simultaneous visualization of the meaning can be of great
significance, or even a kind of darshan, if it effects joy and peace inside.
The CD "Mantra Darshan” contains 5 new mantras, all with lyrics and melody has
been received in meditation. The accompanying music is a little different this
time. To tanpura, a zither (Swarmandal) was integrated into a sound collage. It
was important to us, that this mantra as soon as possible could reach many
listeners. Now they are here.
More info and audio samples can be found at:

and
With cordial greetings
Mohani Heitel
http://www.smirti.de/i_md.htm
from the booklet of the CD:
Darshan is a word which describes in Sanskrit the appearance
of the Divine. The appearance of God in a form is unmistakable with other
appearances. This phenomenon can also occur in the human consciousness. The
formless consciousness is the universal divine force which calls all life and
all forms of the world into existence. The realization, and perception of this
creative force inside, in a state of purified mind is called Darshan. At the end
of each mantra of this CD it is prayed for the revelation of God in one´s
own self. Hence they are summarized here. They fulfill the longing of those who
wish to connect themselves with God and worship Him only for the sake of
adoration. These mantras can once be realized if they are repeated with
awareness of the content, with appropriate fervor, longing and love, either by
hearing or by singing. Each Darshan mantra is like a ship, which can bring us to
the shore closer to God. The texts and melodies of the mantras are composed and
sung by Mohani Heitel, accompanied by Tanpura and Zither or Tanpura alone.
more than that this new book explains all about the story how Mohani's
MantraSinging developped beginning with her childhood
as a shaman's daughter in India

7) WriterDoc Ronald David Laing
Ronald David Laing (7 October 1927
– 23 August 1989), was a
Scottish
psychiatrist who wrote extensively on
mental illness – in particular, the experience of
psychosis. Laing's views on the causes and treatment of serious
mental dysfunction, greatly influenced by
existential philosophy, ran counter to the psychiatric orthodoxy of
the day by taking the expressed feelings of the individual patient or
client as valid descriptions of lived experience rather than simply as
symptoms of some separate or underlying disorder. Often associated with
the
anti-psychiatry movement, he himself rejected the label as such, as
did certain others critical of conventional psychiatry at the time.

It is very fitting that the heart of this organization is a medical
doctor. Since his retirement from the practice of radiology, Dr. Dave
Dahlgren has become an active freelance solo and ensemble performer
on bass trombone, as well as on tenor trombone. He plays bass trombone
in the WTQ, as well as in the Classic Big Band and the Minneapolis
Trombone Choir, and tenor trombone in the Normandale Brass Quintet. Dave
is a former member of the Minneapolis Brass Ensemble. He continues his
studies with Jim ten Bensel and with Scott Moore. He considers it a
dream come true to play in a group with players such as Matt, Chris and
Lee. Dave serves as the quartet's promoter, librarian, coordinator and
guy-who-makes-things-happen.

12) Ray Ware is LeadTromboneDoc
Ray Ware- Lead Trombone
Ray is a native of Snyder, Texas, where
his parents were advised by a doctor to have him play a wind instrument as
therapy for childhood asthma. A call to relatives soon turned up an old
slide trombone in the family. So at age 10 Ray began a life-long love affair
with music and the trombone. He played in school bands through his high
school years, and in 1941 he began to play in a really bad dance band. The
experience scarred him for life! He was drafted into the Army in 1943 and
placed into radio operator training (because even mediocre musicians
routinely scored very high on Morse code aptitude tests). Ray carried his
trombone into combat in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and after the fighting
subsided, he joined one of the USO-like entertainment groups made up of
musicians, singers, and stand-up comics. After WWII Ray played in dance
bands at the University of Texas, Austin, and at UT Medical Branch,
Galveston. Then his trombone went into the closet for a 35 year hiatus.
During the trombone's exile to the closet, Ray accumulated a wife and two
children to support, so he joined the Air Force for internship at Wm.
Beaumont Army Hospital. He was then assigned to the USAF School of Aviation
Medicine, San Antonio, where as an Air Force flight surgeon he taught and
did research on physiological measurement methods for use on air crew
members in flight. Several years later, he left active duty and joined
Southwest Research Institute to do medical instrumentation R&D. Ray left
SwRI to join the VA Hospital System as a research administrator. After so
many years of doing such fun things, it was time to go to work for a living,
so he specialized in Nuclear Medicine and found that to be even more fun! He
worked as a "nuke" in VA Hospitals at Kerrville, San Antonio and Dallas,
there reaching the level of his incompetence as an administrator. After
retirement 5 years ago, Ray finally was able to study music theory and take
some private trombone lessons, learning immense respect for real musicians
in the process. |
