1) Dennis Novack is RockDoc

Wolfgang,

Thanks for your e-mail.  It's fun that you have put together this website!  I have been in rock bands with medical students and residents for the past 20 years.  At Drexel, we have just finished performing at our 14th annual pediatric AIDS benefit and this year raised almost $65,000.
I've been traveling quite a bit recently and am heading off to France in the morning and am incredibly behind so probably won't be able to get to your request for photos etc.
I really appreciate what you are doing, though!
All best wishes.
Dennis

8) Medizinerorchester Bern/Switzerland

Founded in 1968 by medical students the orchestra is mixed with other professions in the meantime. As always among medical doctors it is difficult to maintain the dates of rehearsals because of busy working conditions, said Urs Wild, the president of the orchestra on the phone. He likes the idea of the contact forum DoctorsTalents.com and could imagine that some members come for working phases of the EDO European Doctors Orchestra...

10) medici cantantes are ChoirDocs from Leipzig/Germany

Der Medizinerchor

This choir meets once a week being composed of medical students and professors. A former Thomaner singer Till Wallborn has conducted it until he went abroad.
Now Johanna Kuhnt (4th semester medicine) is conducting it - she is experienced with several other choirs.

There is a wide repertoire with works of Brahms, Bach, Mauersberger etc., often well-known melodies get original texts on medical subjects.

The "medici cantantes" perform at least once per semester at the Medical Concert. Recently the choir had intensive working phases in a "camp" and thus could enlarge the repertoire with 6-voiced pieces.

14) Friedrich Schiller was medical doctor, thus he was a WriterDoc

He came to the attention of Karl Eugen, Duke of Württemberg. He entered the Karlsschule Stuttgart (an elite, extremely strict, military academy founded by Duke Karl Eugen), in 1773, where he eventually studied medicine. During most of his short life, he suffered from illnesses that he tried to cure himself.

Medizinstudium

16) Imhotep was ArchitectureDoc, InventorDoc, WriterDoc and PhilosopherDoc

Image:Imhotep-Louvre.JPG

Imhotep (sometimes spelled Immutef, Im-hotep, or Ii-em-Hotep, Egyptian ii-m-ḥtp *jā-im-ḥatāp) (2667 BC - 2648 BC) is the first architect and physician known by name in written history. He is also possibly the source and creator of the Papyrus Scroll being its oldest known bearer. As one of the officials of the Pharaoh Djosèr he designed the Pyramid of Djzosèr (Step Pyramid) at Saqqara in Egypt around 2630-2611 BC, during the 3rd Dynasty. He may also have been responsible for the first known use of columns in architecture. The Egyptians also credited him with the discovery of many inventions. Imhotep was also a poet and philosopher. He urged contentment and preached cheerfulness. His proverbs contained a "philosophy of life." He coined the saying "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we shall die." His name means "the one who comes in peace."

citation from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imhotep

The Pyramid of Djoser, or kbhw-ntrw (libation of the deities), was built for the Pharaoh Djoser by his architect and medical doctor Imhotep. It was constructed during the 27th century BC at the Saqqara necropolis to the northwest of the city of Memphis.

This first Egyptian pyramid consisted of mastabas (of decreasing size) built atop one another in what were clearly revisions and of the original plan. The pyramid originally stood 62 meters tall and was clad in polished white marble. The step pyramid (or proto-pyramid) is considered to be the earliest large-scale construction.
