Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1939, Dr. Bryant completed his undergraduate degree in French literature at Princeton University in 1961, graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon in 1965 and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Maine Medical Center in Portland from 1966-1969.

From 1979 to 1971, Dr. Bryant was in the United States Navy, and later went on to a successful general internal medicine practice in Portland, Maine from 1971 to 1999.

Medizin & Musik verbinden   Selbst Musikmachen macht Spaß und verbindet. Das dachte der Arzt und Pianist Wolfgang Ellenberger auch, als er einen gemeinnützigen Verein für musizierende Ärzte & Medizinstudenten gründete. Mittlerweile ist dieser Verein gewachsen und weitere Vereine entstanden , welche die verschiedensten Aktivitäten für Menschen im medizinischen Berufsfeld anbieten. Eine Liste der Vereine und Aktivitäten unter DoctorsHobbies Schirmherrschaft findet ihr auf www.DoctorsHobbies.com. Es gibt in Deutschland über zwanzig Musik Vereine (Ärzteorchester, Anm.d.Red.). Nach den Musikvereinen haben die Sportvereine den zweitgrößten Zulauf. Neben etlichen regionalen Sportvereinen gibt es auch einige internationale. Das Highlight für die Sportler sind die www.medigames.com, eine kleine Olympiade für Docs, die jedes Jahr in einem anderen europäischen Land stattfindet und über 20 Sportarten umfasst. Außerdem gibt es die ArtDocs und die WriterDocs, letztere mit nationalen Verbänden und Literaturpreisen. Konzert im Krankenhaus Das jüngste Kind des gemeinnützigen DoctorsHobbies Vereins ist www.KrankenhausKonzerte.de, Ziel dieser Veranstaltungsreihe ist es, die besten MusicDocs aus aller Welt in 500 deutschen Krankenhäusern auf Tournee zu schicken. Es geht nicht darum, einfach irgendwelche Musiker für ein Konzert zu engagieren: Das enorme kreative Potential der MusicDocs soll gebündelt werden. Eine hochkarätige Veranstaltungsreihe ist geplant. Mach mit! Natürlich sind hier die Medizinstudenten gefragt! Jeder Medizinstudent ist herzlich eingeladen, kostenlos Vereinsmitglied zu werden. Vielleicht könnt ihr eure Ausbildungs-Krankenhäuser zur Teilnahme motivieren? Oder Ihr spielt selbst ein Instrument und möchtet an Konzerten teilnehmen? 8) Karl Hoffmann was NaturalistDoc!

Karl Hoffmann (December 7, 1823 - May 11, 1859) was a German physician and naturalist.

Hoffmann was born in Stettin and studied at Berlin university. In 1853 he travelled to Costa Rica with Alexander von Frantzius to collect natural history specimens. He served as a doctor in the Costa Rican army during the invasion of William Walker in 1856. He died of typhoid in Puntarenas.

Hoffmann is commemorated in the names of a number of animals, including Melanerpes hoffmannii and:
