1) letter to the editor about our PROJECT published in the Deutsches Ärzteblatt

Wolfgang Ellenberger wrote a letter to the Deutsches Ärzteblatt which was printed on June 23rd, It relates to the topic presented in edition 15/2006 about investing in the health of employees. Ellenberger's critics is that the health care professionals are rarely investing in their own health... see original article click here

...and he proposes to single persons as well as health institutions to participate in the project www.PROJECT.docwebs.com
which would be the international platform for medical doctors, dentists, veterinarians and pharmacists
as described in this project-web (ENGLISH and german) which is set up by our association www.DoctorsHobbies.com .
In the letter to the editor this is more or less the sense: See right column "Überregionale Einrichtung" (only German):

Ellenberger, Wolfgang
Lohnende Investition: Überregionale Einrichtung
Deutsches Ärzteblatt 103, Ausgabe 25 vom 23.06.2006, Seite A-1741 / B-1488 / C-1440
BRIEFE

Wolfgang Ellenberger,

Dr.med. Vera Zylka-Menhorn cannot yet look back on her entire work of life since she is just 52 years old and surely will have a lot to do´...
Though she is journalist for 20 years now. On April 25, 2006 she got the Walter-Trummert-medal from Prof.Dr.med. Peter Sefrin in the name of the
association of the german medical press, this happened in Wiesbaden where this association had a yearly meeting.

Zylka-Mehnhorn, born on May 3, 1954, studied medicine in Cologne (1972-1979) and became specialized in Anesthesy. She was much interested in the athmosphere
in the operation rooms.

In 1986 she switched over to journalism, beginning at the big german newspaper "DIE WELT" (1986-1990), then as free lance and finally she came to the "Deutsches Ärzteblatt". There she is responsable for the "Medizinreport" which is commenting actual medical reports. She is emphasizing precise information about new products and procedures and is never shy to use clear words.

By the way the prize was donated by two competing companies -people were smiling about this fact. Their teams were sitting on different tables but were unified in the intention to honorate critical journalism......

Albrecht Hempel was born in 1957 in Hohenstein-Ernstthal/Germany in the Saxonian Erzgebirge and made his "Abitur" in the Thomasschule at Leipzig, then studied medicine in Rostock/Germany and became "Privatdozent" at the Charité in Berlin. As specialist for heart and blood circulation medicine he was chief doctor from 1998 at the heart center Brandenburg and from 2003 to 2005 at the 2nd medical clinic of the Friedrichstadt-Krankenhaus  in Dresden.

His father was priest and his mother matrimonial consultant so this opened his mind for holistic medicine and now he is chief of the center for energy and environment medicine.

His wife Maria (who is medical doctor as well), five children, a dog and his violin are important elements of his private life.

6) The Hamburg Doctors Orchestra has a new homepage

...in the beginnings
and today:

The Hamburg Doctors Orchestra was founded in 1964 by the church musician Willi Linow, inviting medical doctors, dentists, pharmacists and medical students as well as medical staff an their partners. After the second conductor, Prof. Weiss, deceased, the church musician (and wife of the famous hand surgeon) Anne Stellbrink took over the orchestra where she had played at the viola for many years before.
Under Anne Stellbrink the orchestra developped its actual "image". She worked a vast repertoire spanning from small compositions and soloists up to symphonies by Mozart, Beethoven, Schuber, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Brahms.....

Besides numerous recitals in and around Hamburg the orchestra liked to travel aborad to play in European countries as well as overseas in the United States, Namibia, China and Burma. These trips were very successful and unforgettable.

After Anne Stellbrink had to give up her conductin gbecause of illness in summer 2003 a new conductor Thilo Jaques could be engaged from January 2004 on -also he has accompanied the orchestra as French Horn player on the Indonesia tournee.

The 40th anniversary was celebrated on a cruise ship on the river Elbe in August 2004. The orchestra likes to play on beneficial events, as musical act for medical congresses, for doctorate celebrations, in senior homes - just apart from the traditional half-yearly recitals in the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf UKE.

Visit their new homepage (2006) for actual information:
