1) William R. Bertelsen is a pioneer as InventorDoc!
It is exciting to meet a pioneer of a new technology which is standard today
and who is still practising medicine at the age of 86!

click on the pictures to see his own presentation!

Here is Dr. Bertelsen in the mid 1950s ,
with his VTOL model which introduced him to the
world of the "ground effect", the basis of air cushion technology.
Dr. Bertelsen in recent years, after many achievements in the field of transportation

Watch Video 2:  The A-2000 traversing airport runways This video shows the craft doing  maneuvers on land at an airport in Illionois.  This shows the controllability of our vehicles, most unusual for a hovercraft
Note you can try a video requiring a faster Internet connection than you have. It will probably play, but Real Player will pause the video transmission periodically to "buffer" the video, and then continue.

High Speed Connections (e.g. DSL, Cable Modem):

In fact Dr. Bertelsen has been the first person flying air cushion vehicles as a person over ground and over water even before the british
colleagues did so.

It was a great pleasure for me to have a telephone call to this extraordinary and humble man. With his 86 years his voice and his ideas sound a lot younger than you ever would expect! And it started from his motive to be able to reach his patients in the countryside faster under any difficult conditions of weather and over different grounds........ He is STILL working as a medical doctor in the Trinity hospital at his town!

I definitely recommend you to spend some time on his web www.AeroMobile.com  and watch many videos, documents and pdf-files.

2) PianoDoc Isabel Serrano (MedStudent from Teneriffa/Canarian Islands)
has performed in the modern Teneriffa concert hall and in the medical faculty

Some images about three concerts on 2006. At the Medical Faculty of the Universidad de La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain), playing piano.
At the Auditorio de Tenerife within the Joven Orquesta de la Sinfónica de Tenerife -conductor: Paul Opie-;
and with Noemi, a violin friend.

Thank you Isabel for these beautiful photos and the short message!

4) Two Georg Forster MultiTalentDocs
with the same name (!) in history:

4 a) Georg Forster I (ca. 1510 - 1568) Liederbuch PublisherDoc

Georg Forster Liederbuch - Nürnberg 1565 - Band 1  Georg Forster "Liederbuch" - Nürnberg 1565 - Band 1

Besides his professions as medical doctor, GEORG FORSTER was music lover, author, composer, collector and editor in ONE person.
His five collections of popular and tenor songs are an important document of "burgeois" music culture of the early 16th century.

In the edition of  'Des andern theyls ... Teutscher Liedlein ...' (the other part of german songs...), Nurnberg 1565 the separate parts for ‘Discantus’, ‘Altus’, ‘Tenor’ und ‘Bassus’ have been set together in a partition for modern use. They contain songs about drinking, hunting, humoristic stories, love songs and court songs and even erotical songs.

Although Forster does not use the addition  '... auff allerley Instrumenten zu brauchen' ('to play with several instruments') but explicitely '... zu singen' ('for singing') it is recommended to perform it with added instruments as the historical ones of that time like 'Flöten, Krummhörner, Cornamusen, Dulciane, Pommern und Schalmeien, Lauten, Gitarren und Gamben'.  ANY combination from "a capella" to instrumental seems to be interesting.

The texts have been left in the original, only the printing has been modernized.

4 b) Georg Forster II (1754 - 1794) world traveler

sailed around the world - scientist/explorer - essayist - travel author - democrat

Portrait Georg Forster

This travelling author was confessing the Jakobiner political "cast".

Born on November 27, 1754 in Danzig as son of a priest Georg Forster was one of the great active spirits of the 18th century. With his father who explored nature, he travelled through Russia and participated at the second world travel of James Cook.

Then he accompanied Alexander von Humboldt on several journeys and arrived at Paris/France in 1790 and became an enthusiastic disciple of the French Revolution. With the military he came to Mainz/Germany and founded a club of Jakobiners and was sent to the National Assembly where he requested the integration of the left bank of the river Rhine to France.

This brought the patriotic people against him and Forster died as a poor man in Paris in 1794. He was profiled as a good travel author and still is an acknowledged creator of landscape literature in the modern lterature sciences.

There is even a Georg-Forster-Society in Kassel!
