ChoirDocs: Theme Actual Future Past Special DocPresentation

There are only few choirs of Docs. Why?
Because a choir needs regular training every week normally.
And this seems to be the general time problem of HobbyDocs.....

But see here: http://www.emsc.org , The European Medical Students Choir!

Deutsches Ärzteblatt 99, Heft 12 vom 22.03.02, Seite A-796

On 30th and 31st March 2002 the European Medical Students Choir (EMSC) is going to perform Gioacchino Rossinis „Petite Messe Solennelle“ in two churches in Berlin. 120 medical students and doctors from whole Europe are going to wing this mass under the music professor Constantin Alex from the Humboldt-University of Berlin.

EMSC is a project choir meeting once or twice a year since 1996 in different European cities. The profit of the events is forwarded to beneficial purposes like this time for "doctors without limits". EMSC is financed through particpiant fees, sponsors and free contributions. Contributions are tax-deductable.

Der Medizinerchor

This choir meets once a week being composed of medical students and professors. A former Thomaner singer Till Wallborn has conducted it until he went abroad.
Now Johanna Kuhnt (4th semester medicine) is conducting it - she is experienced with several other choirs.

There is a wide repertoire with works of Brahms, Bach, Mauersberger etc., often well-known melodies get original texts on medical subjects.

The "medici cantantes" perform at least once per semester at the Medical Concert. Recently the choir had intensive working phases in a "camp" and thus could enlarge the repertoire with 6-voiced pieces.
